Our Tours


Our tours are designed to ensure that all your senses are engaged as you learn about our history and the work that we do. Choose from any of the following:

Classic Tour

This tour encapsulates the story of Belmont Estate by sharing the history of its owners and workers and providing a glimpse into the workings of the estate. Guests learns how cocoa beans are made into chocolate through visits to the cocoa fermentary, drying house, chocolate factory and sampling dark organic chocolate and cocoa tea (local hot chocolate). They also get to meet our animals – parrot, tortoises, donkeys, goats – while enjoying the beautiful scenery of the estate.

Availability: Sunday through Friday from 8:00am – 4:30pm
Price: US$5.00 (EC$13.00) for adults | Children 12 years and under ½ price
Duration: 45 - 60 minutes

Tree-to-Bar Chocolate Tour

This tour is designed for those wanting an in-depth experience of the cocoa beans to chocolate bar process. Guests learn about the cultivation, harvesting, fermentation, drying and processing of cocoa into chocolate and other products. The tour includes a walk into the cocoa fields for a demonstration and participation in the harvesting of cocoa pods; visiting the fermenting and drying areas; and a tour of our chocolate factory to learn about chocolate making. A three-course lunch featuring chocolate dishes concludes the day.

Availability: Monday through Friday in the months of October – May
Price: US$65.00 (EC$175.50) for adults; Children 12 years and under ½ price
Duration: approx. 4hrs including lunch

Tailored Tours for Schools

We can tailor our tours to suit the ages of your students. There is something for every grade. Common activities include:

  • Feed our goats, interact with our parrot and macaws, holding our tortoises.
  • Learn about cocoa and chocolate, walking or rake the beans, learn the chocolate process.
  • Learn about our history and our role in the plantation system on the island.
  • Let us know what you would like as part of school tour and we would work with you to see your goal materialize.

    Coming Soon

    We are excited about offering this new tour where you will learn how we process goat milk, hand-milked from our farm raised does, into chévre (goat cheese). Our operations, though small, produces top quality cheese in six flavours – Pure Plain, Cracked Pepper, Garlic & Chives, Red Hot Pepper, Italian Blend and Chocolate Delight - used by hotels and restaurants on the island.
