This tour encapsulates the story of Belmont Estate by sharing the history of its owners and workers and providing a glimpse into the workings of the estate. Guests learns how cocoa beans are made into chocolate through visits to the cocoa fermentary, drying house, chocolate factory and sampling dark organic chocolate and cocoa tea (local hot chocolate). They also get to meet our animals – parrot, tortoises, donkeys, goats – while enjoying the beautiful scenery of the estate.

Tree-to-Bar Chocolate Tour
This tour is designed for those wanting an in-depth experience of the cocoa beans to chocolate bar process. Guests learn about the cultivation, harvesting, fermentation, drying and processing of cocoa into chocolate and other products. The tour includes a walk into the cocoa fields for a demonstration and participation in the harvesting of cocoa pods; visiting the fermenting and drying areas; and a tour of our chocolate factory to learn about chocolate making. A three-course lunch featuring chocolate dishes concludes the day.Availability: Monday through Friday in the months of October – May

We are excited about offering this new tour where you will learn how we process goat milk, hand-milked from our farm raised does, into chévre (goat cheese). Our operations, though small, produces top quality cheese in six flavours – Pure Plain, Cracked Pepper, Garlic & Chives, Red Hot Pepper, Italian Blend and Chocolate Delight - used by hotels and restaurants on the island.
